Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is Roku, and how can it help me?
A. Roku is a small device which connects directly to any High Definition television. It uses a wireless internet connection to deliver an outstanding, broadcast quality, picture to a potential 15 million viewers. It is an ideal, economic means of delivering your message to these viewers, who receive our channel for free.
Q. Where can I get a Roku player?
A. Roku players are available at many retail locations including Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Radio Shack, K-Mart, and many other outlets. The price of a Roku player varies from about $30 to $80 depending on the desired features. The Knife and Gun Show can be viewed on any of these players. There are no monthly subscription fees for the viewers, and many are finding this to be a great alternative to expensive satellite and cable services. Some televisions are now incorporating Roku technology into their design, avoiding the need for an external player.
Q. Will anyone with Roku be able to see my table?
A. Yes. Any Roku owner that subscribes to the Knife and Gun Show channel will be able to see your table. Our channel is free, and is publicly available in the Roku Channel Store. Also, the channel is searchable in the Roku database. Addition of our channel takes less that a minute, and the content is immediately available afterwards. Your table is viewable at any time, on demand, instantly.
Q. Can I share a table with someone else?
A. You are allowed to feature items that belong to others. However, only the vendor that leases the table will have contact information presented. All correspondence will come to you, and then you must relay that information to others participating with you.
Q. Do I need a Federal Firearms License to sell guns on my table?
A. No. We strongly suggest that all local, state, and federal statutes be adhered to when you sell a firearm. It is up to you to complete any transaction, as we are not involved in the sale or distribution of firearms. Our channel is merely an outlet for you to display your products. We recommend that you observe the same transaction processes that you would if you were selling at any reputible gun show.
Q. How is this different from the internet?
A. The Knife and Gun Show is not an auction site, and takes no commission from items sold from your table. This is a television experience, not an internet experience. Viewers can shop from the convenience of their easy chair, using a phone or email to contact you directly. Also, many websites and services are becoming quite unfriendly to gun owners and dealers. We proudly support the Second Amendment, and your right to view and purchase these items from the comfort and privacy of your own home. Yes, we use the internet to heighten awareness of this channel, but we do so to drive the viewers to watch on television, instead of on a computer.
Q. What contact information is presented to the viewers?
A. Your privacy and success are of utmost importance to us. Any combination of the following can be chosen by you to be presented with your table: name, address, phone number, or email address. At least one of these must be presented, but you can have all if you wish.
Q. I own a gun store. Can I just advertise my business as a table?
A. Absolutely. Your table contains the information you wish to display to the public. Content can be as simple as a five minute infomercial about your place of business. Should you need more time, consider joining our network as a sponsor, taking advantage of extended content opportunities. Prices available upon request.
Q. Do I need a business license or tax certificate to lease a table?
A. No. We encourage individuals to join us. If you have items you wish to sell, lease your table today and start moving those items now.
Q. Am I obligated to promoting your channel?
A. No. However, the more people who learn about Roku and the Knife and Gun Show, the better your merchandising opportunities will be. We will actively promote this channel to the public through social media, and other platforms.
Q. If the channel is free to the viewers, why do I need to pay to be on your channel?
A. While it is true that viewers can watch for free, broadcasters incur charges to make the programs visible to the public. These charges include storage of your videos or photos, bandwidth to transmit the videos to the viewers, and personnel to manage, transfer, edit, and schedule your content.
Q. What is the future of the Knife and Gun Show?
A. We see this channel being positioned to be the first, and largest televised Knife and Gun Show. This will afford consumers an alternative to view and purchase products inbetween attendance at traditional gun shows. This is an excellent, economical way to present merchandise on a national scale.
